The Nature Preserve and Bird Sanctuary project is the Marco Eagle Sanctuary Foundation’s plan to preserve the site currently known as the Eagle Sanctuary located at 665 Tigertail Court, Marco Island Florida. The development will include a Nature Learning Center where the public can experience the natural habitat of pre-development Marco Island while also preserving the home of a nesting pair of American Bald Eagles and many other species of birds, animals, and flora native to the region.
The finished project will provide Preserve access to our citizens, visitors, and school children of the area through walking paths and the learning center where they can view and study the original flora and fauna of pre-developed SW Florida and learn the principals and techniques needed for future conservation. The Preserve will create a high profile destination for the island’s numerous visitors and demonstrate the level of concern the citizens of the area have in maintaining and preserving the wildlife and plants that are native to the area while also enriching the world class vacation destination that Southwest Florida provides.
The learning center will be state of the art with classroom educational programs, walking tours provided by Preserve Docents, as well as online access for the public to view educational videos, and the American Eagle Nest cam for monitoring the nesting season activity.
